Today, as well as being my birthday, it is also Sewing Machine Day!
Especially perfect for this year, as I received presents from three of my loved ones....my Mum, and two of my mates, who all consider themselves non-sewers(I beg to differ, as you will see when I can upload pics of their craftiness!), and have taken up sewing partly being inspired by me!!(amongst other friends who have started sewing lots)
Our generation of women are revamping the skills of our nanna's & grandma's!!
There is so many young muma's who've taken up the sewing and knitting needles and crochet hooks, it's wonderful to see more and more littlies in home-made creations and houses adorned with works of love.
A present is far more appreciated when you look at all the stitching and know they were all done with you personally in mind, it is really a special feeling when you receive something especially sewed for you!

as you know I used to hate sewing but seeing you sew your friends presents inspired me to give it a go. AND I LOVE IT. after finishing sewing your birthday present I felt empty as if there was something I was supposed to be doing as it took me a few months to sew both dolls. anyway now spotlight is having their 20% off everything sale I can't wait to buy material and get sewing again. thanks for awakening a new craft in me, it is so much fun watching a piece of material turn into something special. ;)
