Little Miss Sophie has been a silly sausage overnight and we had to visit the vets again this morning. The nerve damage in her leg must be driving her bonkers, and she has nawed away at parts of the leg, looking pretty deep into layers of skin....icky green mess was what I woke up too :(
The vet says her leg may be feeling like when we have pins and needle, either the tingly stage or the numb stage, and she's not making the connection that what she is attacking is infact part of herself.
So now she's a bucket head!
She has had to wear one of these colars before, for her cyst operation, and she managed to get out of it as she's so petite they don't come small enough. I don't know if you can tell from any of the pics, but Sophie, fully grown, is actually not much bigger then a kitten!
She is now also on a second type of antibiotics, so both types attack different types of bugs, and I have to bathe her wounds several times a day.
I know there's a lot more heavy crap going on in the world then a sick cat, but golly this is lowering the mood of our house! Every dark object I see outa the corner of my eye, I turn and expect to see Sophie shimmying up to me, JackJack sits at her box and chats for a bit(even read a book to her! lol), but then gets frustrated he can't pat her all the time and gets sad. Even Tyler, who is not her biggest fan, is showing her more affection through this time......he tells me she cost him lots so he may as well get his moneys worth! lol
