It's what you're used to....

Today Tyler is on day shift.  Yuck.
His usual roster is a shift that sees him leaving the house around 3.30pm and returning home around 3am.  Not what the majority of families would like, but it's what we're used to(having had this since before Jack was born), and I grew up with my Dad working a similar time, so it's what I know.
Next week starts a 6 week stint of day shift, to cover someone on holidays, and today he's on day shift to train in ordering and what not that goes along with the shift.
Where most families are used to having Daddy home for dinner and children's bed routine, in our house we're used to Daddy being home for breakfast and wake-up routine.  In our house, when Jack has morning activities, such as playgroup, Daddy gets his breakfast and dresses him as Muma gets herself ready....so needless to say, this is gonna be a reality shock for Muma, and definately mean earlier mornings to get us both ready and out the door on time! Gah.
So today, my mission is simple....to have a shower at some point! lol  Yeah yeah, you're used to managing a shower on your own during the day, I'm not!  I can handle the bedtime routine on my own, so suck on that day shift families ;-P
I think though, coz Tyler works an hour away, this day shift stuff is gonna suck all day long.  I dought he'll be home for any of Jack's awake time :(
It's now 9.30am and he's just getting ready to walk out the door now.  Yep, not the usual day shift start time today, but the bastards put him on day shift after working last night, he got home at 3.3oam....seems his boss has just enough of a heart to let him start a bit later.
